Job Summary: The safety inspector will carry out daily inspections in the field and in the IPS yard as necessary. Inspections included but are not limited to checking for proper PPE, JSA’s, pre-trips, hazard assessments, pre-job briefings, equipment, vehicles and any other items that may need inspection. Inspectors are also responsible for taking immediate corrective action as necessary if any issues are found during any inspections. All inspections will be properly documented in the iauditor system. BBS audits are also to be completed as necessary each day.
Complete inspections are expected to be done at each location in which the inspector visits. The purpose of the audits is to ensure employees are in compliance with IPS policy as well as customer policy. More importantly it is to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. Proactive communication and teamwork are essential to be successful in this position.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office /field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary, but are usually Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. some weekend work may be required from time to time as scheduled.
Travel
Significant amount of travel within each day should be expected, as the work required is done in the field. Employees could drive as much as a few hundred miles in a day.
